Today we had to set the computer with the things that we are going to show on them. First I was told that we where going to have internet in our room and that I could use my url to access the thing that I was going to show, but then they told us that we do not have internet access in our room. I could still show my thing offline but will have to bring my working files tomorrow.
Together as the way finding group started to place the inside signs next to each room with the course names and other signs that will help direct the visitors. First we were going to use double sided tape to stick the signs to the wall but this method was not good as they were falling. Then we managed to get all purpose silicon from the school and used it to stick the signs to the wall. This method took a longer time as we had to hold the sign for some time till the silicon dry's out.
Sticker Signs Day :) Today Beejays Signs will come to school to assemble the stickers for the inside and outside signs. We as the way finding group where there to help them and guide them when needed. I was really happy when I saw them done as they came out very good and think that they will be very effective. Later on myself together with Jessica painted two of the walls that where going to be used for the way finding signs as there where text written on the wall and we wanted to cover them.
I went through the bricks with black paint to cover any white spots that where still showing. Myself together with Jessica went to find the school handyman so that he could remove the glass window from the corridor sky light for us, so that we could measure the size and print the logo of 'Tikka'. We removed the sticker of last years exhibition and cleaned it from the dirt it had.
Myself together with Lexy cleaned the room door from the paint and dirt it had. Later on I also helped in painting the bricks in black as we agreed that some of the bricks would look better in black then in white expect for the middle stands.
Myself together with Jessica painted a wall in our room in white paint as the wall was dirty. Myself together with the others of the way finding group went around the school to confirm how and where the large stands are going to be placed, also to check where the arrow direction should look before sending for printing. Later on I asked PJ if there is something which I can make, he told me to paint the wood sheets with varnish to give the wood some gloss.
Myself together with Patricia checked the inside signs again for the last time. We painted does that needed the most. We also painted the sides with a small paint brush instead of using the roller.
Later on I also helped in painting some of the bricks in white paint. I started by checking all the inside signs that where done the day before. Some signs needed to be done again as they where not good. Many signs had the sides to be done and others needed a second layer of white paint. We sanded all the signs before giving them an other layer of paint. Then myself and Patricia done all the inside signs. When they where dry we placed them inside the room on the floor.
As I arrived at school in the morning I started by finding a place where I could work.
I then started by painting the inside signs in white paint together with other members from the way finding group. I had given them 2 layers of white paint also after each layer I sanded them with sand paper to remove any humps. Also I have helped my team in painting the outside signs. On Monday as soon as we meet we discussed some issues of what need to be done and some changes that we had to do.
We went to the workshop to see if the wood we ordered is there, but the lecturer that was there told us that there is not much left. We have explained to him that we had given Mr. Thewma the list of materials we needed from before. We then went to speak to Mr. Thewma and explained to him what happened about the materials we ordered and that they are no where. Afterwards we again went to the workshop to talk to the lecturer if he could arrange to give us 4 sheets of wood and if he could cut them for us with the machine. Few moments later the lecturer had done them for us in the size we given him. The lecturer also suggested a way how the outside stands for the signs should be build up, he told us the build a support frame to the back of the sign. Later on myself and naomi measured the signs size for the inside signs and went to the workshop again so that the lecturer would cut them out for us. Naomi and myself also went to bring white paint and undercoat paint from Mr. Thewma who he called the handyman to give us the paint we wanted from the store room. Later we started to sand all the inside signs before starting to paint them in white. |
